Botanical Dyeing: Tataki Zome

This summer we can’t wait to introduce you to the Japanese dyeing technique known as tataki zome. What do you get when you combine cotton tea towels with fresh flowers and a…hammer? Definitely an unlikely combination but it results in gorgeous custom dyed works of usable art.

Join Ashley in the field this summer for a unique eco-dyeing experience. Learn about the history of botanical dyeing and then meander through the flower field to select the perfect blooms for your creation. Finally, unleash your creativity and say goodbye to your stress as you get to hammering!
