Alpaca Information

How can we visit the alpacas?

We offer interactive Alpaca Picnics, Yoga with the Herd and Date Night. These events allow you to get up close and personal with our herd.

When are alpaca picnics offered?

Alpaca picnics are offered from May to September on select days. Use our booking calendar to view availability.

Can we go in the pen with the alpacas?

Yes- but only if you have booked an alpaca experience. You can not go in with the alpacas during a u-pick but you will however most likely see them in their enclosure.

Can I cancel/change my alpaca picnic?

Yes! It’s super easy. Find your confirmation email that you received when you booked your appointment. There are three clickable links at the bottom of the email, the first is titled "Change/Cancel Appointment". You can click this link to reschedule or cancel your booking.

Why is there a limitation on the amount of people allowed in a picnic?

Our alpacas are like our family pets- which means we put the health and safety of the herd first. Group sizes are kept small to ensure our herd does not feel overwhelmed or threatened by visitors. If we find that your group is causing the herd too much stress, we will ask you to leave their enclosure and end your picnic.

Are children allowed in with the alpacas?

Children over the age of 6 may attend Alpaca Picnics under the supervision of an adult.

No. We are a working farm. We have several animals and would not want to put our livestock or your pet at risk. Please leave all pets at home.

Are you wheelchair and stroller friendly?

Unfortunately, our farm is not 100% wheel friendly, yet. Strollers are not allowed in the alpaca enclosure but can navigate around the flower field. Accessibility is at the forefront of our minds as we continue to grow. Stay tuned for updates on how we plan to make accommodations in 2028.

Can I cuddle the alpacas?

No. A common misconception is that alpacas are cuddly, affectionate animals- but the truth is...they're not! While alpacas are curious, they tend to be quite skittish and will most likely do their best to stay just close enough to keep an eye on you, but will scoot out of the way if they feel like you’re too close.

Do you offer refunds on picnics for weather cancellations?

Our events run rain or shine so we encourage guests to check the weather before arriving and dress appropriately for the conditions.

If events are cancelled due to inclement weather, guests will be notified and a refund will be issued.

Can I book the alpacas for a private event?

No. Our alpacas are not for hire and do not leave the farm.

Do you sell alpaca products?

Yes! Visit our farm store or shop our products online. We sell yarn, alpaca fertilizer, embroidery, stickers and more!

Are pets allowed at the farm?

No. We are a working farm. We have several animals and would not want to put our livestock or your pet at risk. Please leave all pets at home.

General Farm Information

What flowers do you grow?

We grow a variety of flowers that bloom throughout the seasons! In spring, you'll find tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, anemones and peonies in our workshops. Summer brings lisianthus, sunflowers, zinnias, gladiolus, snapdragons, cosmos, foliages and grasses and so much more (available at our u-pick and workshops). Fall features richly colored lisianthus, eucalyptus and heirloom chrysanthemums available for our workshops.

When is the best time to visit?

Peak bloom times vary. We succession plant our flowers to have a continual selection of blooms all summer long. We tend to have the most selection in mid August. Follow us on social media for field status updates.

How does a u-pick experience work?

Our U-pick flower experience is available by appointment only. Visitors can explore our fields, pick their favorite blooms, and create their own bouquets by filling a cup with 20-25 stems. We provide the container and clippers—just bring your creativity! A $5.00 admission fee is required at time of booking and then you’ll pay for your cup of flowers when you arrive at the farm. We accept cash and card at the farm. Book your u-pick appointment here.

Can 2 people attend a u-pick and only one person picks flowers?

Yes! Every guest is required to pay a $5.00 admission fee. You can decide how many cups of flowers you would like to pick when you get to the farm. Each cup holds a maximum of 25 stems.

Are children allowed at the farm?

Depending on the event, yes! Children of all ages are welcome to attend a flower u-pick experience and children over the age of 6 may attend Alpaca Picnics. We have a kids only yoga class as well as pumpkin workshops dedicated to kids. Most workshops are adult only events.

Are pets allowed at the farm?

No. We are a working farm. We have several animals and would not want to put our livestock or your pet at risk. Please leave all pets at home.

Are you wheelchair and stroller friendly?

Unfortunately, our farm is not 100% wheel friendly, yet. Strollers are able to navigate some of the paths but we recommend a baby sling to get in between crowded rows. Accessibility is at the forefront of our minds as we continue to grow. Stay tuned for updates on how we plan to make accommodations in 2026.

Can I go into the alpaca enclosure during my u-pick appointment?

No, our farm is not a petting zoo. You can view the alpacas during your u-pick appointment, but you are not permitted to enter the enclosure with the alpacas. If you’ve made a reservation for an Alpaca Picnic, you will be provided with instructions on what to expect.

Do you offer refunds for weather cancellations?

Yes! A full refund or an opportunity to reschedule your event will be provided due to inclement weather. Guests will be notified as soon as possible.

Can I book your farm for a private event?

Our u-pick can accommodate bookings for up to 16 people for a 90 minute time slot. If your party is larger than 16 guests please reach out to hello@bloomson7.ca. Guests are required to pay a $5 admission fee and $30 for a cup of flowers. Please note, we can not extend the length of your 90 minute booking. We do not offer elopement or wedding rental services.

Can I book your farm for photoshoots?

Yes! Our farm is a beautiful setting for private photography sessions. Professional photographers can make a reservation here. Photography rentals cost $75/hour and are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays only for the months of August and September.

How long will cut flowers last, and how can I make them last longer?

Most of our flowers last 7–10 days, depending on the variety. To extend their vase life:

  • Trim stems at an angle before placing them in water
  • Change the water daily
  • Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from the fruit bowl.

Download our free Flower Care Guide for more information.

Do you offer flower subscriptions?

At this time, we do not offer flower subscriptions, but you can always visit our farm store for fresh bouquets (just call ahead to confirm availability) or order a Bucket of Blooms for DIY bouquet making.

Can I order custom bouquets or arrangements?

At this time, we do not sell custom orders. However, we offer bulk Buckets of Blooms for DIY weddings and events. Let us know your color preferences, and we’ll harvest the freshest blooms in the field. In addition, our farm store is open Wednesday-Sunday and stocked with fresh hand-tied bouquets and seasonal arrangements.

Do you sell seeds or starter plants?

Yes! We sell cut flower seedlings at our Seedling Sale in May. We offer a unique collection of lisianthus, snapdragons, dahlias, zinnias and so much more! We also have a small collection of seeds available for purchase as well.

What’s the best way to grow my own cut flowers at home?

We recommend starting with easy-to-grow flowers like zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, and dahlias. Be sure to plant in well-draining soil, water regularly, and cut flowers often to encourage more blooms. We’re always happy to share growing tips with you through our newsletter. Sign up here!

Are your flowers grown organically or sustainably?

We prioritize sustainable and eco-friendly growing practices. We incorporate alpaca by-products into our soil system by using their bedding and fibre as mulch and manure as fertilizer. While we are not certified organic, we avoid harmful pesticides and focus on soil health, natural pest control, and biodiversity to grow our flowers as naturally as possible.
